Let’s find your throughline.
Your strategic plan says where you’re going.
This is how you get there.
Throughline helps your leadership team create three connected building blocks:
A Future Story vivid enough that your board, staff, and donors can picture what your community looks like when you succeed
A strategic plan focused enough to survive a lean budget or crisis
A one-year roadmap, built on the Plan-On-A-Page™, which connects both your Future Story and the strategic plan to the daily work of every department
The three parts work as one system. Each depends on and strengthens the others.
Why now?
In spring 2026, we interviewed senior communications and marketing leaders at community foundations across the country, in organizations of different sizes, regions, and planning cycles. Each described the same gap between strategic vision and daily execution. Not one had found a way to close it.
See it for yourself.
The four creators behind Throughline share why good strategic plans stall, what the research shows, and how to close the gap between the boardroom and Monday morning’s to-do list. Watch it here.
One system. Three connected parts.
Every Throughline engagement includes three essential, connected pieces.
The Future Story
A vivid, aspirational narrative that answers the question every board member, staff member, and donor should be able to answer without hesitation: What does our community look like when we succeed? Emotionally compelling. Strategically credible. Operationally believable.
The Strategic Plan
A clear, focused three- to five-year year framework — built with your board, grounded in research, specific enough to guide hard decisions, and flexible enough to survive the real world. If you already have a plan you believe in, we align to it. If you don’t, we build it with you.
Plan-On-A-Page™
The trademarked one-year operational roadmap that turns strategy into a daily work plan. Built collaboratively with your leadership team, it shows every department’s priorities, how they connect, and how progress gets measured — all on a single page your whole organization can see.
A quarterly accountability check-in keeps the system moving throughout the year.

Who is this for?
Community foundations and social good organizations whose leaders are tired of plans that take off with great ceremony and never quite land. Throughline will help show everyone in the building the line between their work, the metrics dashboard that the board asks about regularly, and the mission.
The team behind Throughline.
